OMG Racing Announce Rookie Aaron Daykin as 2023 Pirelli National Junior Superstock Contender

Bennetts British Superbike Champions OMG Racing have announced that they will once again
contest the Pirelli National Junior Superstock championship in 2023, with newcomer Aaron Daykin
taking the reigns of the team’s Yamaha R6.

At just 20-years-old, Daykin is a newcomer to the racing circuit, having spent his youth playing
football at a high level, before taking to the track for the first time in June 2021 with his father. It
quickly became obvious that the financial paraplanner had a natural aptitude, and in 2022 he would
enter No Limits’ Newcomer 600 series on a Yamaha R6 13S, where he would score 8 podiums and
finish the competitive championship 7th overall.

The Nottingham-born racer will contest his first Pirelli National Junior Superstock championship with
the reigning Bennetts British Superbike Champions, after Team Owner Alan Gardner recognised his
talents last year. During the team’s annual end-of-year test in Cartagena, Daykin would spend hours
each day getting used to the bike he’ll be racing during 2023, as well as working with the team
decoding data & understanding bike setup.

Alan Gardner, OMG Racing Team Owner – “It was immediately obvious when I came across Aaron
last year that he was fast, and when I found out he’d been riding just a few months before entering a
championship he scored numerous podiums in, I was impressed. Natural talent is important at this
level, and whilst this will be a steep learning curve for him, I have no doubt that he’ll take it in his
stride, and we’ll see some fantastic riding during the season.”

Paul Curran, OMG Racing Team Principal – “Aaron impressed not only me but the whole team when
he joined us in Cartagena in December 2022. He listened to advice from both Kyle [Ryde] & Ryan
[Vickers], and throughout the week he would spend considerable time getting his head around the
bike, as well as working closely with the mechanics & engineers. He shows all the signs of becoming a
successful racer, and I’m looking forward to seeing how he gets on this year.”

Aaron Daykin, OMG Racing Pirelli National Superstock 600 racer – “I feel incredibly excited and
humble to sign with OMG Racing for 2023, considering I’m at such an early stage in my career. The
team have made me feel right at home, and I feel I’ve settled in really well. I had a great test with the
team in Cartagena before Christmas, and I’m really looking forward to getting out to Navarra in a
few weeks’ time for the start of the official 2023 testing season.
“I’d like to thank Alan, Paul and all of OMG Racing for the fantastic opportunity, and I cant wait to
get stuck in, as I kick start my career in the BSB paddock.”
