OMG Racing, which has been competing this year in the Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) as OMG Nitrous Competitions Racing, have announced today (26th July) that Nitrous Competitions are taking over the running of the team from Founder Alan Gardner. The team will now be known as Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing.
Both OMG Racing & Nitrous Competitions were formed in 2018, quickly rising to the top of their respective fields in a short space of time. OMG Racing, under the stewardship of Alan Gardner, took victory in both the 2022 & 2024 BSB seasons, whilst Nitrous Competitions, started by David Williams & Matthew Phillips, reached the milestone of more than £100m of prizes being won this year.
The announcement sees Nitrous Competitions take full control of the team moving forward, ensuring that OMG Racing will remain within the world’s biggest domestic racing series for many years to come. David Williams, joint owner of Nitrous Competitions, is no stranger to the world of motorsport, having competed in the No Limits Racing series for the last two years, before making the step to the Pirelli National Superstock Championship with OMG Racing this year. He has also taken part in a number of 4-wheeled series, including the fearsome F1000 championship, and can often be found at track days across the UK on his Yamaha R1 & Ducati V4S.
As well as racing himself, the Leicester-local has joined forces with Gary Ward to form Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing, which will be competing in the MSVR run GB3 & GB4 championships, a well-loved series that has provided the like of Lando Norris, George Russell & Pietro Fittipaldi the experience necessary to reach F1.
Alan Gardner will remain in the BSB paddock with Kove Factory Racing UK, as he continues to work closely with Nitrous Competitions OMG Racing Team Principal Paul Curran to develop the Kove 450RR in the British Sportbike Championship, which this weekend is being ridden by former World Supersport 300 Championship Winner Marc Garcia.
