Nitrous Competitions Racing shine at Donington Park as Kyle Ryde delivers flawless hat-trick!

Round 8 of the 2025 Bennetts British Superbike Championship at Donington Park will go down as one of the most memorable weekends in Nitrous Competitions Racing history. In front of packed grandstands, Kyle Ryde (#1) produced a masterclass across all three races, securing a historic hat-trick of victories and extending his lead in the championship standings. Teammate Glenn Irwin showed trademark resilience, battling through technical setbacks to bring home valuable points for the team.

• Friday – Ryde immediately set the tone, topping FP1 with a 1:27.934 – the only rider under the 1:28 barrier – and ending combined practice P3 overall (1:27.540). Glenn steadily built pace, improving session by session to secure direct entry to qualifying.

• Qualifying – Kyle put the Yamaha on the front row in P2 (1:27.073), while Glenn secured a competitive P9 (1:27.547).

• Race 1 (Saturday) – Ryde pushed Scott Redding all the way in the shortened 10-lap opener, finishing P2 just 1.022s adrift, with the fastest lap of the race (1:27.405). Glenn rode superbly in the pack, crossing the line P5 (+6.070s).

• Race 2 (Sunday) – Kyle struck back with victory, fending off relentless pressure from Redding to win by 0.201s and clocking the fastest lap (1:26.867). Glenn secured P9 after a hard-fought battle, adding vital points.

• Race 3 – From pole, Ryde was untouchable. He managed the pace perfectly to take his second win of the day by 1.222s. Glenn was unlucky with a technical issue and forced to retire early.

• Race 4 (Finale) – In a dramatic closing race, Ryde completed his hat-trick with another brilliant performance, holding off Rory Skinner and Redding to take victory by just 0.444s. Glenn regrouped and brought the Yamaha home in P17 after restarting from the back of the grid.

Team Owner, David Williams:

“Donington Park delivered one of our strongest weekends yet. Kyle executed with control and speed – three wins on Sunday is a very special achievement. Glenn had a setback but never gave in, fighting hard to bring home points. The whole crew deserve huge credit. We leave Donington with trophies, momentum, and belief. The championship fight isn’t over – but we’re exactly where we need to be.”
