Bennetts British Superbike Championship (BSB) and International Road Racing contenders OMG Racing have today announced an exciting link with BMW S1000RR performance parts specialists alpha Racing, who will join the team as technical partners.

Since the launch of the BMW S 1000 RR back in 2009 and the related entry into the Superbike World Championship, alpha Racing has worked closely with BMW Motorrad. The S 1000 RR specialists are the first port-of-call when it comes to high-quality performance parts and services for professional circuit use. For the 2019 S 1000 RR, alpha Racing develops and manufactures high-quality racing components in close cooperation with BMW Motorrad Motorsport (Official Partner of BMW Motorrad Motorsport). In the international racing scene, alpha Racing acts as Technical Supplier of the BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team, the BMW Motorrad World Endurance Team as well as numerous other BMW Racing Teams.

Former Moto-GP Star Héctor Barbéra joins OMG Racing for 2020

OMG Racing joined the Bennetts British Superbike Championship in 2018 and have quickly grown into paddock favourites – taking their first win in the series in just their second season at Silverstone. In 2020, they line up in BSB with the returning Luke Mossey and former Moto-GP star Héctor Barberá, with Aussie ace Billy McConnell representing the team in Superstock 1000.

OMG also recently announced that in 2020 the team would make its debut on the International Road Racing calendar, competing at the Northwest 200 and the Isle of Man TT, with 2013 Lightweight TT winner James Hillier lining up alongside David ‘Davo’ Johnson, who stormed to his maiden TT podium in the 2019 Superstock race.

Team Principal Paul Curran welcomed the official link with alpha Racing and the support it will bring ahead of the 2020 Bennetts British Superbike Championship;

Paul Curran, OMG Racing Team Principal

“We’re very excited to be working closely with alpha Racing in 2020 and bringing their expertise across to support our racing activities. alpha Racing have established themselves as one of the top global  performance parts providers for BMW Motorrad and have a wealth of experience supplying some of the top BMW teams in motorsport.

alpha Racing’s expertise with the BMW S 1000 RR gives us a great starting point with the bike and means we’re not playing catch up, so we can get straight to work getting our riders familiar with the new machines and start developing our own improvements.”

Sebastian Hofmann, Head of Performance Parts – alpha Racing

“We are happy to announce the establishment of a very close and extensive partnership with the UK based OMG Racing Team. alpha Racing will support their BMW-based racing activities across the British Superbike paddock, the Northwest 200 and Isle of Man TT.

We are looking forward to supplying and supporting the team with competitive packages that will, together with the already announced top riders and a very experienced crew, for sure result in reasonable results.

Alan Gardner, OMG Racing
