Cutting-Edge CP4® Engine
. The R1’s 998cc inline-four-cylinder engine features Yamaha’s exclusive crossplane crankshaft technology derived from Yamaha’s YZR-M1 MotoGP® race bike. By equalizing inertial forces at the crankshaft, the CP4 motor delivers a direct feeling of linear torque, giving the rider the ultimate connection between throttle grip and the rear wheel.
High-Output Engine Technology
Titanium connecting rods use Yamaha’s precision fracture-split method to ensure maximum reliability with minimal weight. Combined with titanium intake valves and forged pistons, these lightweight parts help achieve the CP4’s high redline and over-rev capability. The cylinder block is also offset from the crankshaft, reducing friction loads on the pistons and bores.
“The LAMI OMG Racing team are delighted at the opportunity to work with Yamaha for 2023,” team principal Paul Curran said. “With the invaluable data captured from the teams debut season on the R1, the agreement for the team to run fully supported Yamaha R1 motorcycles sees a bright future for the whole team.

High-Performance Intake System
The cylinder head, intake system, fuel injectors and airbox work together to enhance part-throttle performance. And by creating a smaller and shorter intake tract, new injectors are able to spray fuel directly against the intake valves for improved fuel atomization.
Refined Rocker-Arm Valvetrain
actuation uses optimized geometry to allow for larger valve lift than conventional cam-driven systems, while using lower cam lobes and reduced spring pressure to reduce friction losses.
The Rich Energy OMG Racing Yamaha R1 superbike features an impressive engine that provides in excess of 220BHP along with an increased torque curve and improved mid-range power. The engine is controlled by a Motec ECU System allows the team access to engine braking strategies, fly-by-wire throttle control, adjustable torque maps and general ignition timing to aid rider feeling and control. With top speeds reaching over 200mph and acceleration speeds of 0-60mph in around 2.3 secs with no traction or anti-wheelie control, this is a superbike of true championship-winning pedigree.
Our engine components and maintenance are all lubricated by Fuchs Silkolene. Our superbikes are supported by marketing-leading brand, Akrapovic Exhuast Systems, supplied by Performance Parts Ltd. Motorcycle brackets and radiator guards for our machines are provided by Evotech Performance. With the welcome support from Yamaha Racing, we have access to GYTR components that complement the pedigree of the Yamaha race bike. Our motorcycle is held together with Rotec Fasteners, providing lightweight high-quality fixings. All engine casing covers and general motorcycle protection is provided by GB Racing covers. Increasing air-flow is paramount for increased power and engine performance so we choose MWR Filters for their quality parts. Aerodynamics play a big part in reaching top speeds and overall motorcycle stability and this is why we use RP Screens to protect our riders. The all-important stopping power for our superbikes is controlled by industry favourite HEL Performance, whose brake lines are used effectively throughout the motorcycle racing paddocks of the world.
