Ben commenced the 2014 title chase as he left off in 2013 with solid performances at the opening round on the cold but bright Brands Hatch short circuit.
The second round in late March was at the East Midland Donington Park Grand Prix track. After a commanding performance of pole, four wins, three fastest laps and improving his own lap record by almost a second the opposition where left in doubt that he was a serious title contender. Going into the third round in early April held at the former USAAF base at Snetterton Heath he had closed in on Championship leader Will Hodgson and after superb rides left the fast track as championship leader.
Apart from a few technical issues at the Angelsey and the penultimate round held on the Donington national track he was never seriously headed to take the title after the first race in the final round at Mallory Park to take the title with a cushion of 60 points over Wigan rider Will Hodgson.
